Abstract: This paper rethinks on the view that cultural misunderstanding is only a blockade to the smooth intercultural communication,and probes,from the philosophical、linguistic、and paraphrastical perspectives,into the rationality of misunderstanding.The articles expresses it is beneficial to develop an unprejudiced and objective attitude to see the cultural difference by quoting some Thoreau's misunderstandings.
