Abstract: This paper gives a brief introduction to a new cognitive theory about building the semantic structure and semantic meaning,that is,conceptual integration theory,and its conceptions of mental space,blending,on-line process and emergent structure etc.With this theory,the figure of transferred epithet including synesthesia and empathy can be fully explained.
