Field Dependence and College English reading teaching

  • 摘要: 阅读是获取语言信息的复杂的信息加工技能.本研究以场依存性-场独立性认知方式理论为基础,通过运用测试法、访谈法、统计分析法,分析了一、二年级大学生的场依存性认知方式与英语阅读成绩之间的关系.文章提出教师在教学中应该结合学生的认知方式的特征,才能提高学生的阅读能力及阅读教学的科学化水平.

     

    Abstract: Reading is a complex information process during which one acquires language information.Based on the theory of field-dependent and field-independent styles, the research utilizes qualitative and quantitative analyses such as testing method, conversation method and data analysis to investigate the relation between field-dependent cognitive style and reading achievement among freshmen and sophomores.Furthermore, the study proceeds to suggest that complying with learners,cognitive styles can effectively enhance their reading competence and instructors,scientific level of teaching.
