Abstract: To realize the rising of Jiangxi in the middle areas, we should give priority to the development of education. The higher education occupies the leading position of the whole education and its functions tend to be socialized and diversified. The status quo of the higher education of Jiangxi can not satisfy the needs of the rising economic and social progress of Jiangxi. So it is necessary to make research on the functions of the higher education of Jiangxi in promoting the regional economy in the new situation and the development strategy of the higher education.
