摘要: 《美国的悲剧》是美国现实主义作家西奥多·德莱塞(Theodore Dreiser,1871-1945)最成功的小说.本文从作品的社会悲剧,凡人悲剧,以及"美国梦"悲剧三个层面来说明《美国的悲剧》正是"美国梦"的破灭的反映.

Abstract: Theodore Dreiser is an American realistic writer."An American Tragedy" is his most successful novel.This paper, in the perspectives of the tragedy of the society,the tragedy of a mortal,and the tragedy of "American Dream",illustrates "An American Tragedy" is the reflection of the collapse of American Dream.
