Abstract:
Zero anaphoras can be used as prepositional complement in ancient Chinese. Drawing data from
Shi Shuo Xin Yu,we describe application of zero anaphoras which act as complement of preposition
Yi,Wei,and
Yu,from the perspectives of antecedents'syntactic positions, and the connection of sentences containing antecedents and those containing anaphoras. Then,we analyze features of zero anaphoras as prepositional complement based on binding theory, and attempt to conclude their application principles. Finally,we discuss the vagueness of preposition,a grammatical phenomenon related to zero anaphoras as prepositional complement.
