Abstract: Young cadres are at a formative stage of career development, during which their understanding of duty performance gradually takes shape. Their career development, roles of authority and responsibility, and sensitivity to organizational evaluation constitute the practical context for shaping a correct view of political performance. A Party spirit perspective helps clarify how Party spirit cultivation shapes young cadres’ correct view of political performance, identify the Party spirit-related roots of deviations in practice, and explore corresponding practical pathways. The analysis shows that political loyalty strengthens the value orientation of political performance; commitment to serving the people establishes the criteria for evaluating performance; sound views of power and career help calibrate the understanding of duties and responsibilities; and a strong sense of responsibility promotes the translation of correct judgments into sustained conscientious action. Short-termism, formalism, utilitarianism, and conservatism in duty performance are associated with weaknesses in the outlook on career, commitment to serving the people, understanding of the public nature of power and positional responsibilities, and the sense of responsibility and willingness to act, while also being influenced by organizational evaluation, inspection and assessment, and accountability pressure. Accordingly, shaping a correct view of political performance among young cadres requires strengthening theoretical education and intra-Party political life, deepening grassroots experience and service to the people, improving performance assessment and cadre selection and appointment, and refining supervision, restraint, fault-tolerance, and corrective mechanisms, so that the requirements of Party spirit are translated into concrete judgments of political performance and practices of duty fulfillment.
