Abstract:
The Spirit of the Eight Central Provisions serves as the core instrument for advancing the ongoing improvement of work conduct within the Communist Party of China (CPC) in the new era. More fundamentally, it embodies the CPC’s self-revolutionary approach to eradicating deep-seated malpractices such as formalism and bureaucratism, which are manifestations of the “four styles,” and to steering comprehensive and rigorous CPC self-governance toward sustained progress. The normalization of implementing the Spirit of the Eight Central Provisions is intended to guide broader social mores through enhanced CPC and government conduct, effectively address conduct-related issues that directly affect the public, and increase the people’s sense of gain, thereby providing a solid foundation for modernizing China’s system and capacity for governance. To systematically study and implement the Spirit of the Eight Central Provisions, it is necessary to construct a closed-loop practical framework centered on self-revolution, proceeding along three dimensions: strengthening ideological guidance, refining institutional mechanisms, and reinforcing cultural cultivation. This approach translates the self-revolutionary spirit into tangible and lasting improvements in the CPC’s conduct.
