Abstract: In The Ontology of Social Being, Lukács starts the construction of his Marxism ontology from labor category, and the teleological positing is the essential nature of his labor category. On the basis of reviewing the teleology in the history of philosophy, Lukács inherits the teleological ideas of his predecessors critically, and enriches the connotation of the teleological positing in the labor category through the discussion of multiple pairs of categories. Lukács accurately grasps the feature of labor, the teleological positing, inherits Marx’s labor theory, and elaborates a series of creative opinions. It is necessary to reorganize many issues in Lukács’ labor category from the perspective of the feature, the teleological positing, so as to highlight the important position of the teleological positing, analyze the context and connotation of Lukács’ labor category, and point out that the essential nature of labor is the teleology positing.
