Abstract:
The new form of human civilization is essentially a socialist-communist civilization centered on labor, with its value orientation directed towards the free and comprehensive development of human beings, and its internal logic based on labor-derived happiness. From the broader historical perspective of this new form of human civilization, the labor-based happiness view in the new era maintains that happiness belongs to workers, that labor creates happiness, striving is happiness itself. It critically transcends the “labor alienation” of capitalist civilization, the otherworldly illusory nature of Christian civilization’s concept of happiness, and the instrumental rationality of technological civilization. The view embodies civilizational implications characterized by labor’s ontological nature, workers’ subjectivity, and the harmonious unity of labor pursuit the instrumental rationality and value rationality.
