Abstract: The academic circles have published a large number of papers on the red gene, red culture and revolutionary culture, which involve the definition of the relationship between the three in different degrees. From different perspectives, the definition of red gene, red culture and revolutionary culture is also different. In essence, the red gene, red culture and revolutionary culture belong to the ideological discourse system guided by Marxism. Analyzing the relationship between the three from the perspective of socialist core values captures the key points of their relationship. It is helpful to clarify the relationship between the three concepts in essence. From the aspects of homology, isomorphism and function, this paper analyzes the relationship between the three and the socialist core values, and finds out their internal relations. Analyzing the impact of content structure, value function, and generative logic on the socialist core values can reveal the differences among the three. Therefore, based on the perspective of socialist core values, we can effectively distinguish the relationship between the red gene, red culture and revolutionary culture.
