Abstract: The culture of rural sages is an important part of China’s excellent local culture and a source of power for the revitalization of rural talents. The local complex, the source of good governance, the power of civilization and the moral foundation it contains are the dominant cores that effectively respond to the practical needs of rural revitalization, agricultural and rural modernization. However, under the conflict between “tradition” and “modern”, the culture of rural sages is facing the development dilemma of lack of carrier, absence of subject, lack of identity and limited role. Therefore, we should pay attention to the excavation and protection of rural sage culture, actively cultivate rural sages in the new era, create a rural atmosphere of advocating morality and sages, and explore a more effective development mechanism of rural sage culture.
