Abstract: Volunteer service is a powerful gripper for improving the ideological quality of Party members, enhancing their Party ethics and boosting pioneering and exemplary roles. Thus, it is of great significance to study and explore Party members’ volunteer service to strengthen the Party building at universities in the new era. At present, there exist some drawbacks of the volunteer service at universities, such as lack of participation, paucity of specialty relevance, inadequacy of distinctive features and immaturity of the teams. Based on the case study of N University in Jiangxi province, from the perspective of Party-building guiding League-building’s political advantages, the article introduces the concept of project management and puts forward countermeasures and suggestions in the following aspects: constructing innovative mode, optimizing top-level design, strengthening guidance and assessment, reinforcing incentive measures, cultivating excellent projects and building strong volunteer teams. It is hoped that a reference can be provided for the project-based Party members’ volunteer service at universities.
