Abstract: Hanshan Deqing, an eminent monk at the end of the Ming Dynasty, not only devoted his life to the revival of Zen Buddhism, but also was an accomplished monk of doctrinal study who especially with deep attainments in Huayan school. His promotions of Huayan were an important opportunity for the revival of Huayan studies in the Ming Dynasty. The Huayan jing gangyao compiled in his later years, had important ideological historical significance for the inheritance and development of Huayan school.
