Abstract: The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) highlights another major diplomatic wisdom of China: to reshape the international trade environment and political pattern by relying on regional economic and trade cooperation. The agreement mobilized Singapore’s leading role in regional economy, established China-Japan free trade relations, and connected ASEAN in an in-depth and comprehensive way. However, the implementation of the agreement will bring a series of challenges to the new trend of international politics, the progress of China’s industrial chain and the standardization of science and technology. Facing the new trend and new challenges, China should promote political mutual trust through economic integration, improve the international-hub function by enhancing the core competitiveness, and connect the global economic and political systems through the establishment of a world-class trade platform.
