Abstract: What is "gu tu" in Qu Yuan's Tian Wen? At present, there are many viewpoints in the academic circle, which can be divided into four kinds:rabbit theory, toad theory, tiger theory and toad and rabbit theory. The word "gu tu" is interpreted as the point of view of "toad and rabbit". We can analyze the previous three statements and point out their irrationality. Combined with the rhetoric of some historians and cultural scholars as well as the collected arguments, it is proved that the word "gu tu" in Tian Wen should be interpreted as:toad and rabbit.
