Abstract: Adalbert Stifter was one of the representative authors of the Biedermeier Literature,whose works have significant features in describing the Nature. It is also an important medium for the author to express his thoughts in a deeper sense. Judged from a perspective of natural imagery,the novel Der Hagestolz of Stifter is a delicate work which reveals three important aspects:memory,order and utopia,especially the permanent concern about the dialectical human-nature relations and his views and pursuit of the harmonic order.
