Abstract: In recent years, as economy develops, the differentiation in the eastern,middle and western regions of China is becoming increasingly outstanding. According to the economic location entropy formula and the relevant regional economic data, it is of great significance to measure the regional economic development capacity and the difference of regional economy in China by using the method of weighted coefficient of economic aggregate. The study found that after entering 21st centur, the gap between the economic development of different regions in our country began to gradually expand and the concentration on the economic zone also gradually shifts from the original developed areas, developing zones and backward areas to areas between the developed and backward ones, having exacerbated polarization trend of our national regional economies. To narrow the economic gap between the regions in China, the government can allocate more capital and human capital investment to, as well as give more technological and policy support to the central and western regions. This will also reduce the gap between the rich and the poor and help to achieve the goal of common prosperity.
