Abstract: Chin Yang Lee is the author of the novel The Flower Drum Song.This novel tells about a common family in Chinatown, from the perspective of cultural differences between China and the USA. He shows the picture of Chinese immigrants living in the USA in 20th century. The novel describes the differences between the older generation of Chinese immigrants and their descendants, and reveals the collision and integration between the old and the new culture, the Chinese and Western cultures. The novel also shows a certain degree of the Chinatown and Chinese traditional culture. In addition,Chin Yang Lee also thought about the differences of the Chinese immigrants in his works. He reveals the diversity of the overseas Chinese.
