Abstract: Max and Engels attached great importance to the role of human's practice and activity to the theory propaganda and education. They made valuable insights that human's practice and activity is the root, foundation and also important means and carrier of ideological and political education, at the same time, ideological and political education should serve human's practice. The ideas give some revelations to ideological and political education nowadays which include following aspects that ideological and political education should adhere to the principle of linking theory to the practice to become more convincing; should make full use of practice and activity as educational means and carrier to enhance vitality and attractiveness; and should respect people's subjectivity to enhance the relevance and effectiveness.
