Abstract: The theory concerning with "general" is an important part of the strategic thinking in Huainanzi, which contains the necessity of choosing the general and the way of being a general,as well as the relations between generals and the emperor, the soldiers and the people. Influenced by Sun Tzu on the Art of War and Sun Bin Military Tactics, great works in pre-Qin period, Huainanzi further enriches and develops the traditional theory of general, which fully reflects the military cultural implications of Taoism on attaching importance to strategies, politicians and relations with the soldiers.This humanistic thought is worth studying.
