Abstract: By field investigation and literature review, this article has found out reasons for the rapid rise of Nanyang Technological University and how it has developed into the Asia and the world first-class university, which includes strong financial support, the establishment of the modern university system, internationalization strategy, internationally competitive compensation system, a strong competitive teacher employment system and most importantly, a school-running idea taking students as priority. Those successful experiences has certain enlightenment and reference for comprehensive reform in our advanced education, construction of modern university system and building the first-class university.
