Abstract: Characteristics of running a university,a symble of a university's core competence,is the life of it.Recently,Nanchang Hangkong University have achieved outstanding results in running a characteristic university by closely following "service to local development,air and defence",and highlighted aviation and defence feature in respects of idea in running a university, desciplinary development and serving society.At the same time,for the realization of "Changhang dream" which constructing education and reseach universities and the China-class aviation universities,the university must deepen reform, improve governance, stimulate the vitality in running a university and strenthen the characteristics of running it to realize the goal of leapfrog development.
