Abstract: Place-names are text symbols and linguistic phenomenon, while many Place-names has rich connotations. Administrative place-names are comprehensive reflection of political, economic, military, social and cultural factor, which are also influenced by them. From the geographical distribution of the Jiangxi administrative place-names point of view, it shows symmetry, equilibrium among the dispersion, concentration and other characteristics; Judging from the historical evolution, it has inheritance, development and the times and other characteristics. This paper revealed many factors which had made the administrative place names of Jiangxi change on the analysis of historical literature and "maps-related to place-names".
