The Acceptance of Chick Lit in China in the Context of Globalization

Abstract: Chick Lit appeared in 1990s in Britain and America and has been very popular since then. However, Chinese Chick Lit appeared at around the same time suffered from severe criticism. In this century, the Anglo-American Chick lit was introduced to china, which stimulated the creation of local Chick Lit. Actually, the globalization of Anglo-American culture, consumerism and post feminism are the underlying causes of the acceptance of Chick Lit in China.
