On Wang Mian's Winter Sweet Poems and Confucian Ideal Personality

  • Winter sweet poems written by Wang Mian were works of wonder in the end of Yuan dynasty. They embodied the Confucian ideal personality connotation that in success, one tries to let others be benefited and in hardship, one just seeks self-development through efforts of his own.In the "winter sweet poems",Wang Mian shaped the Confucian intellectual personalities artistically from different angle, which not only manifested the political implication of righteousness, but also highlighted the detached secular personality interest.Following Confucian traditional personality of gentleman, the poet upheld Confucian political values, which not only enriched the traditional Confucian personality, but also had a positive and profound historical influence on the later Confucian intellects.
