Migrant Brides in the Age of “Manchuria Immigration”

  • From 1906 to 1945 the Japanese government initiated the policy of "Migrant Brides" in order to fulfill the aim of occupying northeast China and stabilizing its control in the process of "Manchuria Immigration".Millions of rural young women were sent to northeast China after being trained in organizations such as "the female emigration instructor vocation school","female vocation school of emigration" and "the pioneering female school".As sacrifice for Japanese militarism,these women played a dual role as invaders as well as victims.
