On the symbolic art of poems written by Mao Tsedong

  • Mao Tsedong concretized the abstract meanings of his poems with concise language and imaginable symbols. His common writing skills were to express his feeling about reality by symbolizing the natural objects and his high ideal and broad-mindedness through depiction of the images of special figures and animals in an implicit way. He used his own language art to create the special symbolic world in which mountains, streams and rocs flapping their wings have symbolic meanings in his poems. His profound thought was manifested in an all-round way. His inheritance of the romantic poetic style of Qu yuan and Zhunag Zi had the artistic source as well as physiological and psychological sources.
