Ecocriticism of Urban Civilization in Le Clézio's Works

Since the latter part of the twentieth century globe-wide eco-crisis has been drawing concerns from many scholars of humanities,among whom French writer Le Clézio's writings profoundly indicate various conflicts and crises between nature and humans in this period. The author,from the perspective of natural eco-ethics,analyses eco-images of dual contradictions between urban civilization and natural environment reflected in his works,and points out the damages of modern western civilization to natural environment and humanist ecology. Furthermore,through his poetic description and imagination about harmonious homeland of humans and nature,Le Clézio also uncovers his thoughts on how to head towards eco-civilization from the thought of ecological holism.
