Study on the Role and Development Mode of Excellent Disciplines in the Development Process of Local Colleges and Universities

Compared with first-class universities,local colleges and universities are disadvantageous in the access to resources,capital, teachers and student resource.The development practice of the relevant local colleges and universities show that local colleges and universities must be based on the development of excellent disciplines as a breakthrough,which will lead the entire school's academic disciplines,enhance the schools'competitiveness,and strengthen the capacity of serving the local economy and improve graduates' employment rate.In this paper,we analyze the concepts of features and characteristics of excellent disciplines and their role in the development of the local colleges and universities.Then we propose the development modes of excellent disciplines based on the characteristics of local colleges and universities.
