Memory in songs of Anti-Japanese War

  • For all Chinese people, the war of resistance against Japan which happened from 1937 to 1945 is unforgettable national war. During the process of resistance against aggression, the great nationalism that Chinese people showed is precious treasure of human history, and set examples for future generations. As a sort of supporting action for the resistance, a great number of songs were composed by national musicians. These works sufficiently reflected the anti-imperialist and anti-feudal revolutionary awareness, showing vivid political orientation and militancy. These songs not only artistically record the revolutionary cause and help to memorize the revolutionary history and traditions, but also offer significant experience for the subsequent musical creation and life.
