The Application of Cognition of Context in Reading Comprehension

  • The traditional context may turn into cognitive context by the process of abstraction and internalization. After internalization, context is stored in the brain in the structure of schema. And it is stimulated and activated in the process of interactive communication between writers and readers in comprehending a text. In the paper, the author tries to make an analysis on its practical and operative usage in the process of reading comprehension at three different levels such as new words and phrases, difficult sentences and passage.
