Abstract
Anxiety can influence foreign language learning.However,we can reduce it by using metacognitive strategies,which can provide some reasonable plans,arrangements,supervision,adjustments and evaluations for learning assignments so as to enhance the learning motivation and cultivate learners' autonomous learning abilities.This paper analyzes the connotation of anxiety and metacognitive strategies,and also tries to probe into ways of cultivating learners' autonomous learning abilities and reduce the anxieties in foreign language learning.
