Abstract
"The debate on nature of Chinese society" from the 1920s to 1930s was paid more attention to because of its important academic status and political significance behind the academic issues. HE Ganzhi actively participated in it. He thought it was a necessary stage of history for Chinese revolution as well as the theoretical platform for seeking the correct Chinese social character and the precondition for making the future strategy of Chinese revolution. His understanding about the "debate on nature of Chinese society" was undoubtedly correct, but owing to the political orientation, the academic nature of the understanding lacked.
