Investigution into the English study strategy of the Non-professional Students in the Common Engineering Colleges

Abstract
The paper reports a survey study on the learning strategies applied by students of engineering major in Nanchang Institute of Aeronautical technology responding to the questionnaire. The statistical results show that there are myths in their management beliefs and strategies, mother tongue beliefs and strategies and function focused beliefs and strategies, and an acute shortage of time committed to English study. Accordingly, the paper concludes that college English teaching should be strategy-based, with a focus on the development of English thinking ability and stronger motivation.
