    Abstract
  • Taiwan was occupied by Holland for 38 years.For the purpose of colonization and assimilation,Dutch priests pitched in preaching and founding the schooling.They created Latin characters for several national languages.What they did helped the preservation of na tional culture and development of civilization to a certain extent.However,Dutch language policy did huge damage to local language ecology.
