On the New Trend of Translation from the Politic and Cultural Perspectives
-
Abstract
As a science, translation is always interpreted and positioned in the light of linguistics. However, through reading the translation history and the article entitled Politics of Translation written by Spivak in the 60s of the last century,it is discovered that both translation and culture are closely connected with politics in depth. This paper, based on Michel Foucault's view of political power, and Gayatri C.Spivak's cultural colonization as well as the Eastern and Western translation history and translation culture, explores the nature of translation from the perspectives of politic power and ideology. It also hopes to widen the horizon in translation studies through the opaque relationship between the above aspects.
