The important meaning of humanism in economic development

In the history of economic development, the classic economists had blindly advocated solving all related problems with economic means, which was severely criticize by Sismodi, a humanist economist. It is proved that it is a mighty advance in modern economics that the ideological problems involving ethics were taken into consideration in economic research, emphasizing the perfection of humanitarian conditions while developing economy. There is no sense sacrificing the humanitarian conditions for the development of economy. Through analyzing the relationship between humanitarianism and economic development, this paper aims at revealing conformity between them.
