Guo Yin’s Marxist Green Aesthetics Concept

Guo Yin is the initiator of Chinese big culture and big aesthetics, and the pioneer of Chinese green culture and green aesthetics. Taking Marxism’s idea of harmony as his creed and theoretical basis for green aesthetics, he applied Marxist materialist dialectics and Marxist viewpoint of practice to his aesthetic research and practice, thus put forward the green aesthetic concept of “beautifying the two worlds, pursuing the three major harmonies, taking the green road, and striving for the red goal”. His aesthetic view embodies a kind of humanitarianism which unifies the realistic care and the ultimate care. The contemporary value of Guo Yin’s green aesthetics is mainly embodied in two aspects: one is pushing the further development of modern and contemporary Chinese aesthetics, the other is advocating the aesthetics’ practical value orientation of being practical.
