Abstract
Jiao Yanshou’s book Yi Lin has a high status and far-reaching influence in the history of the Yi-ology in the Western Han Dynasty. In the thought of Yi-ology, Meng-Xi’s hexagram-qi theory was adopted in Yi-Lin and the “Jiaolin Day-on-Day Method” was set up. Furhtermore, the methods of “Yin-Yang disaster-difference”, “ Five Elements” and“Na-Jia” were introduced into Jing-Fang, and the image-number-change-learning system of Jing-Fang was inspired. These factors finally promoted the formation of a system, that was the history of the Book of Changes about Meng, Jiao and Jing. Jiao Yanshou also carried on the innovation in the occupation method and inspired Jing-Fang’s “money substitute method”. In Yi Lin, Jiao Yanshou adopted a large number of four-character rhymes, which has great literary value and has a profound influence on the literary nature of the diction in the later works of the Yi-ology.
