Coupling and Coordinated Development of Social Capital, Environmental Regulation and Ecological Efficiency and Its Influencing Factors

  • Under the new era of economy, the combination of social capital and green economy has become an important trend of sustainable economic development in China. Based on the panel data of 30 provinces and cities in China from 2007 to 2017, an evaluation index system for the coupling and coordinated development of social capital, environmental regulation and ecological efficiency was constructed. Based on it, the coupling coordination model was constructed to calculate the coupling coordination degree of social capital, environmental regulation and ecological efficiency of each province or city, whose influence factors were also explored by the spatial econometric model. The results show that the coupling coordination degree of social capital, environmental regulation and ecological efficiency is increasing year by year with a trend of high in the east and low in the central and western regions of China. Among the factors that exerting effect on the coupling coordination degree of previously mentioned three parameters, the level of marketization, scientific and technological innovation and human capital jointly exert a significant impact as well as a kind of spatial spillover effect on the coupling coordination development of Chinese social capital, environmental regulation and ecological efficiency.
