Factors Affecting Medical Insurance Participation of Rural-urban Floating Population and CountermeasuresBased on Sample Data From Jiangsu Province

  • Based on the data from 8000 effective monitoring samples in Jiangsu Province, which comes from the latest version of “the national family planning dynamic monitoring of the floating population health survey”, the influencing factors of rural-urban floating population's medical insurance participation have been carried on the descriptive statistical analysis and logistic regression analysis. Taking the health insurance participation rate as dependent variable and 12 kinds of factors as independent variables, the correlation between the participation rate and the influencing factors has been made clear. Attribution analysis shows that the rural-urban floating population's decision to participate in medical insurance is mainly influenced by both their own individual’s comprehensive factors and external environment comprehensive factors. The individual's own comprehensive factors, in addition to relatively stable factors, include relatively dynamic factors such as intellectual level and economic level. In addition to relatively stable medical insurance policies, resources, and responsibilities of employers, the external environment also includes relatively dynamic factors such as improving medical insurance service level, implementing poverty alleviation and helping to improve the level of knowledge and skills. This provides a strong basis for improving and perfecting the public policy of medical insurance.
