Importance of “Signing” in the Teaching of Chinese Painting

“Title style” is one of the important expression languages of Chinese painting. It breaks through the limitations of painting itself, has the function of title, and can convey the emotion of the author’s inner world, set off the situation of the picture, improve the structure of the picture, and then inspire the imagination space of the readers, and strengthen the breadth and depth of art, which is of great significance. In the process of teaching, due to the neglect of “title style” and the inadequate understanding of students’ own literature, calligraphy, poetry and other aspects, many students are struggling in the face of signing in the Chinese painting, which affects the progress of learning and teaching quality. Based on the author’s many years of teaching experience and in-depth thinking about the current teaching links of Chinese painting creation and practice, this paper analyzes the importance of title style in Chinese painting teaching.
