Analysis on Spatial Agglomeration of Internet Industry Based on Location Quotient
-
Abstract
The internet industry has played a positive impact on regional economy. Analyses by using the location quotient index and panel regression model show that spatial agglomeration of the internet industry in our country presents obvious geographical differences. Eastern part has high level industrial concentration; there is intermediate-high grade of agglomeration in western and northeastern parts, while agglomeration trend in central region is not strong. The driving factors are various. Eastern and northeastern parts’ main factor is the internet infrastructure level, primary factor of central and western parts is the scale of human resource and the internet infrastructure level secondary, while capital investment has little influence on all the regions. In order to promote agglomerate development of the internet industry further, according to the situations respectively, regions should strengthen the construction of the internet infrastructure, accelerate the introduction of talents and technology, give full play to the spatial demonstration effect, and develop advantageous industries with local characteristic.
