Academic-driven Teaching Reform and Practice of Professional English for Engineering Postgraduates

  • The professional foreign language curriculum plays an important role in improving the professional foreign language ability and academic level of postgraduates. At this stage, the curriculum of colleges and universities in China generally has problems such as insufficient attention, rigid teaching content, single teaching methods and disconnection between curriculum and academic research. In response to these problems and their causes, on the basis of in-depth analysis, the author put forward measures such as changing the misunderstanding of concepts and understanding, increasing the teaching content related to the academics, diversifying the teaching mode, attaching importance to the training of the teaching staff and reforming the assessment methods. Finally, on the basis of combing the experience of teaching in recent years, this paper summarizes the teaching practice of the course from three aspects: course content, teaching modes and examination methods, and provides new ideas for promoting the reform and development of foreign language teaching for engineering graduate students in China.
