On Cultivation of Cognitive Metaphoric Competence for EFL Learners

With great importance in foreign language learning, cognitive metaphoric competence is a high-level language ability which maps or codes the target language through metaphoric structure and other cognitive mechanisms. This article was expected to enhance students' metaphoric thinking awareness and competence through discussing methods of establishing metaphoric competence training program and penetrating it in such English teaching aspects as vocabulary, reading, writing and culture.
