Deterministic Factors, Non-deterministic Factors and the Objective Dialectics of Marxism

  • Some scholars deny Engels' objective dialectics nowaday, they think that dialectics is only in the fields of social history, and they are glad to think that there are contradictions between Marx and Engels. In essence, determinism of Marxism is the dialectical determinism, the relationships between the things are the dialectical relationships of unity of deterministic and non-deterministic. From the process of development about Marx and Engels' thoughts, we can see that they were taking the standpoint of dialectical for the relationship between freedom and necessity, absolute and relative. Engels defined objective dialectics in the "dialectics of nature", the definition expressed the objective dialectics were about the development and changes of the things perhaps had many possibilities but not one or two. The achievements of modern science effectively confirmed that the associations between things which were based on difference were decided by the law of unity of deterministic and non-deterministic, new discovered literatures also dismissed the fallacy about confrontations between Marx and Engels, these achievements provides important enlightenment function for the development of Marxism in the new era.
