Effect of Traditional Storytelling Novels on Late Qing Novel Language Reform

  • In the process of novel modernity, writers in the late Qing Dynasty had learned to the western novels of new narrative techniques, writing methods and story content, created political, science, geography, feminism and so on a large number of new novel. However, in the aspect of language, they were unable to learn from the West. Writers come to realize that only to learn from China traditional storytellers and storytelling novels, could make the novel more popular, more exciting, more touching artistic charm, accepted and loved by more people.
