Research into the numerical simulation of the influence of the depth of slag pool on the metal molten pool during the ESR

  • The depth of the metal molten pool influences the crystallization of castings so much as to influence the quality of castings in the ESR.In this paper,the non-linearity function relation between the depth of metal molten pool and the depth of slag pool was gained by simulating the depth of metal molten pool with difference slag pool depth with the finite element software ANSYS.The simulation result is verified by the model.And this model can be used to predict the status of the metal molten pool and instruct practice production.
