The design method for the drag reduction with the area rule and computational fluid dynamics

  • The blended wing-body is optimized by the transonic area rule,and the aerodynamic force of the blended wing-body before and after optimization of the shape is simulated by solving the 3-D,Euler equations.The result indicated that in the Mach number scope 0.8≤M≤2.0,using the transonic speed area rule to carry on the optimized design can achieves the lift augmentation and the drag decrease.
